6. Here is Your New Business Card
This is the story about a business card.
For years, Lisa-Jo and Christie defined their significance according to the business cards in their pockets. They knew just what they wanted those cards to say, and exactly what they never wanted to see printed there.
But their job titles along with their professional and personal roles have changed significantly over the years, and navigating those transitions has led them to the same realization: our significance is determined by God alone. No matter what our business cards do or do not say, God names each of us "Beloved."

Hello, I recently started listening to your podcast. The Jen Fulwiler show is another podcast I listen to and she raved about this podcast and she was right! In a sea of literally thousands and thousands of podcasts you ladies are offering something different, a real breath of fresh air. I listen to a lot of podcasts ranging in a number of broad topics so I know what I am talking about. I love all the episodes but number 6 really spoke to me and was like a salve to my heart. I am a type A, driven, list maker and goal planner and love all things achievement. I was on my way to climb the Corporate ladder after college and a series of things (completely out of my control) started to happen over the course of a few years. At the time I never wanted children and didn’t even think I wanted to get married. God had a different plan. I got married and had two children. I am now 35 and work part-time and wonder many, many days “did I miss something”? I work in an office with uber professional people who all have fancy degrees and fancy titles and gobs of money in the bank. I watch women my age with kids who are climbing the ladder and I feel like a failure because I work part-time. I feel an overwhelming sense that my life is just passing me by because I don’t have those things and grew up thinking i would. Then this episode happened. And i thought for the first time in my life “what if this is God’s plan”. What if this isn’t a plan B? I can’t say the thoughts I had before stopped but I was challenge to view my life from a different lens. I don’t think I ever realized I have a “worth” problem with the Lord. This thought is a game changer. With social media and a culture that thrives on “making things happen” a lot of women and men too just always feel like we aren’t enough. Don’t make enough, know enough people, take enough vacations, have enough dates nights… It just goes on and on and on. The message you ladies are spreading is that we are enough. Not because we say so but because Christ says so.
Good job ladies. Thank you.
We are so so delighted that this episode could encourage and nudge you to look at your life in a different way! Thank you so much for the kind words. We’re so grateful to Jen for her generosity in being such a great friend to the podcast!
