31. Our Favorite Neighbor

This is a story about a man who moved into our neighborhood and it changed everything.

This week Lisa-Jo and Christie remember the cultures and friendships and travel that have defined their understanding of their favorite neighbor.

Lisa-Jo takes us back to her two years in Kyiv, Ukraine and Christie remembers how her parents lived a legacy of missions from their Texas home.

I loved this episode, reminding me that being a neighbor does not come easily or without work and sacrifice. Instagram, and some people in the flesh, make it appear effortless, like a talent that I sorely lack.
The only hiccup in this episode was the product placement. It felt so out of character and jarring.
Otherwise, I cherish my Wednesday morning commute with you ladies and I am always a tiny bit sad when it’s all over. Sometimes I’ll replay it just because. Please keep the conversations flowing!

Thanks for the feedback Erin. We love that we get to commute with you. And we’re still refining our spots for great companies we’re pleased to partner with since it helps pay for the work that goes into creating this podcast. We’ll keep working on keeping any partner spots feeling like a natural part of the conversation.

    Lisa-Jo & Christie,

God lives everywhere & speaks all languages. We are foreigners here on Earth. Our true home is Heaven. Such great thoughts: “God lives in the neighborhood”. “He is not a tourist & knows us intimately.” A new way to think about Jesus. We must remember that God was here before time began & is comfortable any where & everywhere. He knows all languages for He created them. God wants us to make friendships with all types of people. We should love everyone from all walks of life. We may look & act differently, but essentially are the same. Just people living on this plant Earth waiting for His return. Jesus want us to model His kind of living & lifestyle. He stepped out of the splendor of Heaven for us. We need to step out of our comfort zone & make people feel welcome.

    Blessings 🙂
