"How do you do it all?" we're often asked. The short answer? We don't. The longer answer? Well, those are the stories we're telling today. Because life often feels like a series of interruptions stitched together.
But interruptions can be invitations. Invitations to rest, invitations to care, invitations to pay attention. Interruptions can also be serious, heavy disruptions. What then?
Lisa-Jo and Christie talk about the days when nothing goes as planned. Interruptions are always inconvenient, they are sometimes devastating, but they can also be good gifts in disguise.

Unbelievable timing! I finally got to sit down with a coffee at 11pm at night – take 4 – and found this episode waiting for me. My sweet 5 month old granddaughter lives with us and she is unwell. All she wanted to do today was sit quietly, snuggle and be loved. But that wasn’t easy when we are moving house next week. I stopped fighting it and spent the rest of the day doing just that – loving her. It was indeed a most precious invitation. Thank you again for the encouragement and the joy.

This year has been a series of disruptions for me. Death, job loss, a child with significant dietary allergies…sometimes it feels overwhelming. But the relationships that blossomed as a result of the crushing have been my morning glory. Even still, there are many days when I wonder if He sees me. If He hears my cries. If He considers my pleas. Your podcasts always come at the right time. Today it was the perfect reminder that He sees and, more importantly, He KNOWS. Thank you for your vulnerability to your listeners. This podcast has truly been a Godsend.

So….I normally listen to your podcasts on Fridays during my commute. Since this episode came out Thanksgiving week, I had the good fortune not to have to work that Friday. I listened this past Wednesday morning…and what a blessing of a perfect timing. My godmother passed away on Sunday after battling cancer. I had volunteered to do a eulogy at the funeral but was struggling with what to say. She was someone that always took time out for people. I sobbed listening to your podcast and realized that I needed to speak about how she never treated people as interruptions – even when they were. I feel as if I have coffee with friends when I listen to your podcasts even though we don’t know each other. You are both a blessing in my life and were an even greater blessing this week as I struggled with my grief. Thank you.

I just caught up on your podcast last night so these words about interruptions are fresh as I sit in my car with 3 kiddos newly diagnosed with strep throat with a flat tire while waiting for highway rescue! Thank you for helping point my thoughts back to Christ and His character in everyday moments like this, your podcast is my very favorite!
Well this message met me right where I was tonight! Thank you. I have been rocked by some pretty “earth shaking” realities lately, both literally and figuratively. One of my dearest friends passed away right before Thanksgiving, very suddenly and without explanation, and then the earth literally shook here in south central Alaska on Nov 30th. I have felt very small and humbled by my lack of control…there is a lesson there for my control freak tendencies I’m sure 🙂 I truly enjoy your podcasts ladies, and am encouraged by your words and stories each and every time I listen in. Thank you for pouring goodness into our lives and encouraging us all Godward.
